Trade Show Banner Stands #2: Your Presence

One of the first concerns of any new business considering a trade show is “How much do we spend on our convention presence?” It’s easy to get seduced into spending two quarters profits on new toys and display racks and free standing displays for a convention presence. In practice, if you’re just getting started, something a little bit more sedate and reasonable is worth looking into. Probably the best choice for a company starting out is a banner stand. Banner stands are spinnaker-sail type arrangements, that have a spine that provides rigidity, and a base at the bottom with a spring loaded graphical “sheet” that can be drawn out and hooked over the top of the spine. The spine is usually adjustable in height, allowing you to use them for table top displays or free-standing floor displays, to a maximum of 79” (This is usually set so that the signage will fit into a standard convention booth without being a fire hazard.)

Graphics for the Quickscreen 3 graphic display unit are printed at full 1200 DPI resolution, on laminated photo stock paper. The graphics modules are interchangeable, allowing you to use the same base with different graphics for different shows. At 15 pound, the entire setup can be taken to a show as carry on luggage, or packed into an optional hard case and stored securely. Because of how economical and convenient they are, banner stands are the ideal way to test your marketing material before committing to a more extensive (and expensive) pop up display, or rigid backdrop display. Each banner stand costs as much as one panel in a traditional pop up display. Wouldn’t you feel more comfortable if you could test drive your marketing materials before you committed thousands of dollars to them? In particular, the ease with which the stand can be re-used with different printed signs allows you to swap the message out as you get feedback from customers.

Because of the array of widths they come in (19” to 39”), banner stands are great for fitting into tight corners. With their adjustable height, they are also perfect for fitting into the niches and corners of your booth area.
